greetings are in

Greetings are in order, especially those who celebrate Eid-ul Fitr. One more day and the Muslims will have completed one month of fasting. So, how did you do?
I personally think I haven't done any different than last year, which is sad. I always tell myself to get better each year, too. Hopefully I can still meet the holy month of Ramadhan next year. Amin.

In other news, I am currently in Yogyakarta, Central Java, for the holidays. Everything is amazing. I'd almost forgotten how much I loved this city. It's all very traditional and elegant, without being overdone. Just how I like it.
I am staying at one of my grandmothers' joglo (this type of traditional house) and it is as awesome as it is creepy. The wooden materials, the artefacts, the huge backyard... It's definitely got this mystical aura around it. It even has a centuries-old horse carriage, where you can still catch a whiff of the horse's smell!
I must admit I get easily freaked out by this stuff but, ugh, my curiosity gets the better of me! I'm always so attracted by anything from the past. Past lives, historical periods are fascinating to me. I'll probably post some photos later.

My one highlight of this holiday so far, though, remains one thing: my grandmother (from my dad's side, the one I told you about in an earlier post) recognized me and said my name! Ah, alhamdulillah is definitely in order. Nothing, not even him, can ruin the happiness I feel right now.
