once upon a time.

Once upon a time, there was a girl with a heavy book on her lap. A quick look at the cover reveals that she was reading 366 Bedtime Stories. One story for every day in a year. That book stored some truly amazing stories, ones that would make her dream about kingdoms far away, mythical creatures, all about people and their adventures. Through the magic of words, she could experience them all. She learned about legendary figures like Pandawa Lima, was whisked away in the wonderful world of fairy tales (Beauty and the Beast is a particular favourite), and even got lost in events of the past as she uncovered the lives of geniuses like Ludwig van Beethoven and Thomas Edison, or 'obscure' ones like Isadora Duncan and Florence Nightingale.

As she grew up, it became clearer that the written word was her strongest weapon, her biggest asset, the very thing people could identify her with. It was, simply said, her passion. This, along with her aforementioned love of reading, was the perfect killer combination. From then on, she vowed to not let it go to waste. It did get her 25 years to really start things up, but hey, it's never too late to do something you love. At least, that's what I promised that little girl who loved reading in bed so much, she would read under the flashlight, even after her parents specifically told her not to (or she would have to wear glasses).
