i like your brains, darling.

I had an interesting conversation with a friend the other day. At first we were talking about nothing and everything, from the clothes and makeup we couldn't wait to buy up to boy problems~ you know, same old, same old. But it was during this chat about boys that the subject came up: smart vs intelligent. I remember saying that I was attracted to smart people. She immediately replied, "Not smart, intelligent." I was about to open my mouth to argue, but then I understood what she meant.

What is the difference between 'smart' and 'intelligent'? I'm too lazy to open the dictionary right now (side note: kudos to people who compile the dictionary, man, that's a tough job), but I like to think that I am wiser to set my aim in being intelligent, rather than 'just' being smart. It doesn't mean that I'd like to be genius like Einstein, that would be too much. Being intelligent encompasses a lot of areas: you have the right amount of cleverness and wisdom, as well as a bucket load of an open mind.

See, here's the thing with me (and a lot of other women out there, I'm sure): smart people might as well give me a boner. If I was a dude. Which, of course, I'm not. (.... Or am I? LOL) Whether you're smart academically, or 'street-smart', there's something so incredibly attractive about people with a whole lot of knowledge. (But, you know, I do have a very soft spot for 'street-smart' people. They just get it better than I do.)
